AWeber List Management is not a topic, we usually dwell on, but when you are building a list, it is very important to “know your list.” It definitely should be part of your list building efforts.
There has been considerable attention paid of the last few months about how much data to collect in your opt-in forms. The general consensus seems to be that less is better. Just collecting email addresses instead of names and email addresses boosts opt-in rates by double-digit percentage. However AWeber collects a lot more than that!
AWeber Reports – The AWeber List Management Data is There
On the other hand I have found over years of working in the research field that for many types of data the human Mark One Eyeball does the best job. Looking down your list or sorting your list on a certain column can give you gut jolting insights into your list of subscribers.
How Do We Get The Data?
It’s really quite simple.
- Open Your AWeber Account
- Choose the List You are Interested In
- Click on Manage Subscribers
- Download the CSV file
Here is what the Manage Subscribers Screen looks like:

Scroll to the Bottom
Click on the “Export CSV” button and a “Comma Separated Values” file will be downloaded to your computer. Excel or the spreadsheet module in Open Office/Libre Office will open this file with no problem. Here is what you see (approximately. I have moved the columns around.)

Here are the fields you will see (They don’t all have data in my experience.)
- Name
- Country
- City
- Message Number
- Date Added
- Last Followup Date
- Stop Time
- Stop Status
- Misc (empty in my data)
- Ad Tracking
- IP Address
- Web Form URL
- Region (State in the US)
- Postal Code
- Latitude
- Longitude
- DMA Code (Marketing areas in the US – empty in mine data)
- Area Code -(Empty in my data)
That is a WHILE LOT MORE than the name and email address that you would think you are getting.
