10 Top Benefits of Participating in the Top 50 MLM Bloggers Competition

 

Bloggers Competition – When I signed up for the Top 50 MLM Blogs 2012 competition, I thought there was one possible benefit that could come from taking part.  Imagine my surprise when I found that there are at least TEN serious, business changing rewards.  I wrote one post on the benefits to bloggers.  At the time I didn’t really realize how many hidden (or hidden in plain sight) benefits there actually were.  I thought I’d pass these on to other bloggers.

 

 

Competing to be One of the Top 50 MLM Bloggers

Short and sweet tonight

1. Credibility originally I was looking for Branding Benefits – being in the top 50 increases your credibility with your readers.  We all know that we need them to “know, like, and trust” us.  Being on the list, gives you several virtual “points” as soon as people see the ranking.
2. Prizes – When I started I didn’t know that there were prizes.   Of course there are prizes – everyone who enters is assured of at least one free training “prize.”  The top 10 receive upwards of $7,000 in training, coaching, advertising and more.
3. Social Proof – the voting is dome by comments.  People who know, like and trust you leave a comment about your blog.  Assuming that you have some followers, these comments are in fact “recommendations.”   Copy/paste them into your Blog and you have extremely valuable Social Proof.  If your display these recommendations properly, they have a definitely positive impact on your visitors when they arrive at your site.
4. LinkedIn Recommendations – One of the best ways to get recommendations on LinkedIn is to give recommendations.  It is very easy to take the comment that you have already written about another blogger and use it as a recommendation for them on LinkedIn.  The result is going to be more recommendations for you.   These recommendations are the one part of your profile that you cannot just do with your editor.
5. Ethical Bribes from Other Bloggers – one way to get votes in the competition is to vote for others and ask them to reciprocate.  It doesn’t take long to discover that some of the bloggers are offering serious incentives to their followers for voting (free mailing to their list, guest blogging, free access to paid products and more.)
6. Mild Traffic Boost – during the contest I experience a noticeable traffic increase.
7. Bookmarked Some Awesome Blogs – I definitely found and bookmarked some sites that I want to go back to.
8. Networking  – through Facebook Personal Messaging I connected with some people who I would not have otherwise connected with.  Some of these will undoubtably result in future JV projects or other mutually beneficial results.
9. Guest Blogging Offer – I received one guest blogging offer outright and I suspect that I can parley several others.
10. ThatMLMBeat – During the process I became aware of ThatMLMBeat.com and some of what they are doing.  I also met (online) George Fourie and he met me.   In this case I was featured in his Prize Video since I mentioned one of these benefits to him.  More credibility and networking.

There you have my top 10 benefits.  There are more (like increased interaction with some of my mentors).    The increase in name recognition alone has to be worth something to all the bloggers in the competition.
